The 2026 York Christmas Market is set to take place from 12 November to 21 December 2026, bringing a festive transformation to the historic city centre of York. Renowned for its charming atmosphere, the market features traditional Scandinavian-style chalets, twinkling seasonal lights, and a wide selection of high-quality local artisan goods.
Centrally located along Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square, the market extends into surrounding areas, including the iconic The Shambles. Visitors can explore more than 100 alpine-style stalls offering handcrafted gifts, unique decorations, and a variety of festive food and drink, such as freshly baked pretzels and traditional mulled wine.
A key highlight of the event is Thor’s Tipi Bar, which provides a cosy setting for seasonal drinks and socialising. The market is further enhanced by atmospheric lighting displays and live entertainment, creating a truly immersive Christmas experience.
