BRANSTON WATER PARK NATURE RESERVE

Branston, Burton-upon-Trent - Access off A38 south of Branston / Burton

Set beside the village of Branston and easily accessible off the A38, Branston Water Park transforms former industrial land into one of Staffordshire’s most cherished green spaces. Designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2010, the site spans over 23 hectares and boasts a rich mosaic of habitats: a large lake, extensive reed beds (one of the largest in the county), willow and birch woodland, and wildflower meadows teeming with insect, bird and plant life.

You can stroll along flat, level paths that circle the water—perfect for wheelchairs, pushchairs or a relaxed walk. There’s a small visitor centre, café, picnic areas and benches scattered for peaceful views. Kids have their own play space, plus you’ll often see anglers or model boat enthusiasts using agreed areas of the lake. Admission is free and there’s plenty of parking, making this a wonderful choice for nature lovers, photographers, families or anyone seeking a quiet escape near nature.
