Founded in 1962 by five local businessmen the original 9 hole course was located on the site of an old 2nd World War Prisoner of War Camp. Using borrowed tractors and machinery and the goodwill of the members this 'self help, home made' course quickly gained in popularity and plans were soon in hand to expand and develop the facilities. Over the years the course has developed into a good test of golf for all those who venture out on to its tree lined fairways. A parkland course with many attractive features, none more impressive than the 11th century Cathedral which dominates the local skyline. Ely City Golf Club warmly welcomes visitors.
