Managed by the National Trust, Lydford Gorge is the deepest river gorge in the South West, located on the western edge of Dartmoor, Devon. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a rare temperate rainforest habitat. Visitors can hike the rugged trails to witness spectacular natural features, including the 30-meter-high Whitelady Waterfall and the turbulent whirlpool known as the Devil's Cauldron, which is accessed via a suspended viewing platform. The gorge offers challenging circular walks (Devil's Cauldron Trail and Waterfall Trail), a second-hand bookshop, and tea-rooms at both the Devil's Cauldron and Waterfall entrances.
