Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club is an 18-hole heathland course designed by James Braid, established in 1900 and expanded to 18 holes by 1903 with a ceremonial opening by Harry Vardon and Braid himself.
Stretching just over 6,000 yards (Par 70), the course rewards precision through tight, tree-lined fairways, protected greens, and engaging elevation changes—highlighted by standout holes like the elevated 5th and the tricky 13th.
Superb drainage means it remains playable 52 weeks a year. Visitors are welcomed warmly and can enjoy amenities like a modern clubhouse with restaurant and bar, pro shop, practice areas, quality catering, and expert tuition from the long-standing PGA Pro, Peter Hammond. Conveniently located, it’s only a short drive from Red Funnel or Wightlink ferry terminals and delivers a beautifully scenic challenge for golfers of all abilities.
