The museum nestles
amidst Victorian buildings on Royal Worcester's
Severn Street Site and is just a two minute walk
from the Worcester - Birmingham Canal, the River
Severn and Worcester Cathedral. An informative
and entertaining audio tour features Henry
Sandon and skilled craftsmen and tells the story
of the factory's history, famous customers,
talented workforce and everyday life.
Gallery displays range from
Oriental simplicity to Victorian extravaganza
and chart the impact of casual dining, the
freezer and microwave in the 20th century,
taking the visitor on a memorable journey from
1751 to the present day. The museum runs a
programme of exhibitions and events and is

The Victorian buildings of Royal Worcester's
Visitor Centre line Severn Street and lead into
the heart of a world famous porcelain industry
that was founded in 1751. Visitors can take
guided tours of the working factory, the Museum
of Worcester Porcelain and the Manufactory
(where you can paint your own plate) or shop in
Royal Worcester's Factory Shops and Wigomia

The Forge Mill Needle
museum tells the fascinating and sometimes
gruesome story of needle making in Victorian
times. The Mill is a listed building which
houses original water powered machinery, and is
situated in peaceful surroundings adjacent to a
tranquil mill pond.
Beside the Mill is a
Visitor Centre which contains some of the
extraordinary artefacts from the medieval Abbey
which has been extensively excavated by
archaeologists. The Abbey ruins are a short walk
from the museum and are well worth visiting. The
museum shop has a range of gifts, souvenirs and
unusual needles, which also provides a mail
order service. The museum has a lively programme
of temporary exhibitions and events throughout

The Kidderminster Railway Museum houses a vast
range of railway artefacts, most of which date
back to the days of steam travel. From pen nibs
to clocks, from signs to signalling equipment,
from photographs to timetables and rolling stock

the country, and are essentially related to the
British Isles.
