A small (around 2 acres) and muddy coloured
water that can be extremely prolific, lots of
swims and two islands. Mainly carp with a few
small roach. Carp reputedly upto mid 20s but
average around 2-3lbs.
Mature gravel pit of 12 acres in size surrounded
by numerous mature trees with lilies, reed lined
margins and gravel bars. Good head of double
figure carp to mid twenties also has good head
of bream with the odd one pushing double
figures; tench, rudd, roach and pike also
present.
Three Lakes, each well stocked with Carp, Tench,
Roach, Rudd and Perch. No Close Season. Ample
Parking close to the Water. Facilities and Help
for Disabled Anglers. Bookings taken for Match
and Club Fishing. All Juniors made welcome. Fish
any time from dawn 'til dusk all the year round.
Orchid Lakes is owned and managed by big fish
specialist and expert Marsh Pratley. The complex
is situated in the heart of the Thames Valley,
just south of Oxford off the A34 and about one
mile from the delightful and historic village of
Dorchester. All 30lb fish must be reported
immediately whether day or night. Marsh will
come out and ensure that you get some decent
photos which he will then get developed within a
few hours of the shops opening at no cost to
you. Similarly, he will attend at any time for a
snagged fish or bird.
