Belmont is a
Benedictine Abbey, designed by EW Pugin
and opened in 1859, home to a community
of about forty-five monks, who meet to
pray in the Abbey Church five times a
day.
The Abbey Church contains fine stained
glass by Hardman and is a Grade II*
building. |

Visitors are welcome at all reasonable times to
view the Abbey and join the monks in the Abbey
Church.
Refreshments are available at Hedley Lodge, the
Abbey's own guesthouse and the Shop and
Information Centre is open every weekday afternoon
and longer hours at weekends.
