Burford Hotel & Guest Accommodation

Hotels, B&B's, Guesthouses in Burford

Come summer and the picturesque former wool town of Burford turns into a tourist Mecca, widely regarded as the gateway to the Cotswolds – one of Britain’s most atmospheric regions. Old fashioned taverns, a 15th century church and an old bridge across the River Windrush vie for one’s attention alongside other honey-coloured buildings, including the Tolsey – now a museum - where wealthy wool merchants used to gather.

The medieval church contains the first known description of a Native American on one its tombs. In 1649 it was used as a jail by Cromwell’s troops after they rounded up the rebellious Levellers during the English Civil War. Elizabethan Burford Priory was once owned by William Lenthall, Speaker of the Long Parliament, who bravely defied Charles 1.

Here we try to offer a wide selection from budget to luxury hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast, B&B accommodation suitable for holidays, vacations or business travellers in Burford or surrounding areas.
