Corwen on the A5 west of Llangollen has long been associated with Owain Glyndwr who was proclaimed the last true Prince of Wales nearby in 1400. In the centre of the town stands a life size statue of the prince on horseback to commemorate the event.

Also within easy reach are relaxing days on the golden beaches at Barmouth (30 miles) the Snowdonia National Park for outdoor activities and family attractions is only an hours drive away whilst Chester is 45 minutes.
