Machynlleth Hotel & Guest Accommodation

Hotels, B&B's, Guesthouses in Machynlleth

Machynlleth lies on the River Dyfi (River Dovey) and it was here that, in 1404, the Welsh freedom fighter Owain Glyndwr held an historic parliament. The town centre is dominated by a 78ft clock tower – more like a Gothic church steeple – presented to the town in 1873 to mark the coming of age of the son of the Marquis of Londonderry who lived at Plas Machynlleth, now used as council offices.
A short distance out of town is the Centre for Alternative Technology, an attraction which shows many ways that energy can be produced or conserved with minimal impact on the Earth’s finite resources. Visitors are carried from the reception up a steep slope to the main exhibition areas on a water-powered tram system demonstrating first hand that water-power can be cheap and is certainly not obsolete.

Here we try to offer a wide selection from budget to luxury hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfast, B&B accommodation suitable for holidays, vacations or business travellers in Machynlleth or surrounding areas.
