Local Restaurants, Cafes, Pubs, Bars, etc in Wrexham
Places to eat in Wrexham.
Wrexham nestles between the Welsh mountains and the Dee Valley near the English/Welsh border, and is one of the largest towns to be found in North Wales. It was one of the foremost towns to be involved in the Industrial Revolution and it grew rapidly from these times absorbing many of the smaller villages around it.
There is a good main shopping centre, Eagle's Meadow being the newest development, housing many High Street department
stores. In the historic streets are individual shops, boutiques, gift shops and a number of regular markets take place through the week all selling good produce with an atmosphere all of its own.
Wrexham is also a lively centre for the arts hosting the National Eisteddford Festival
in 2011 and possessing a number of theatres of good repute. There are many live music venus spread around the town and it has steadily built up a good reputation with
bands, showing it to be a good arena for spotting new talent to the music industry. Central Station
is the larger venue showcasing many international performers.
If you are touring the area, the great gothic church of St Giles would be worth a visit, one of the finest in Wales and St. Mary's Cathedral (Wrexham Cathedral), a Roman Catholic Cathedral. Pontcysylite Aqueduct has been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Thomas Telford, and on the town's doorstep is some of the
most beautiful countryside. Wrexham definitely covers all tastes.
