Local Restaurants, Cafes, Pubs, Bars, etc in Dolgellau

Places to eat in Dolgellau.

Beautiful Dolgellau sits in a lush wooded valley in the southern parts of the Snowdonia National Park. Towering high above is the amazing mountain range of Cader Idris, and its river meets the head of the scenic Mawddach estuary.
The grey stoned ancient town with pretty welsh gift shops, tea rooms and restaurants makes an excellent base for families and everyone who loves the outdoors, from walkers to artists you will go away wanting to come back for more.

We cannot give a full list of all available food outlets but below is a small selection of those available in Dolgellau or surrounding areas.

Dylanwad Da

2 Ffos-y-Felin, Dolgellau, LL40 1BS
Tel: 01341 422870

A splendid little bistro in the Snowdonia National Park, specialising in down to earth, carefully prepared dishes, which are a delight. For an out of town bistro the scope is wide and includes such offerings as lamb casseroled in Burgundian style and a Thai fish stew made with mussels and coconut milk. A good selection of Welsh cheeses, always a delight, live well up to their reputation. The wine list too bears evidence of loving care with friendly prices, clever choices and house wine. It will come as no surprise to hear that the Welsh name translates as ‘good influence’.

Dolserau Hall

Dolgellau, LL40 2AG
Tel: 01341 422522    Fax: 01341 422400

A striking black and white Victorian gent’s res, now a family hotel serving pleasantly familiar food from a short four-course menu at a set price. Prices are reasonable and the service friendly. The menu changes daily and has a choice of options on each course, with due attention paid to vegetarians. The Winter Garden Restaurant has extensive views into the surrounding countryside, itself one of the main factors in bringing people to this peaceful setting.
