EWENNY
This village lies on the banks
of the Ewenny River. The Church of St. Michael was
built in 1141 and led to the foundation of a
remarkable Benedictine priory built by the Norman
Maurice de Londres. It has many defensive features
designed to thwart attack from local people who
regarded the monks as foreign intruders. The
village is home to 17th century Ewenny Pottery -
the oldest working pottery in Wales.
