Wander through the prehistoric valley of the
Dinosaurs featuring King Kong or relax in our
'Enchanted Fairy Garden' with fairies, dragons
and elves. Indoors we've added a revolutionary
pirate ship 'ZAP ZONE' adventure which we've
named 'Pirates of the River Axe'. Come and visit
the Wookey Bear Collection and factory, also our
Big Top Restaurant. New for July 2007 is the
Jolly Roger Pirate Circus.
We've transformed the place. Of course we've
kept the best - the caves themselves, the
wonderful old paper mill, the Kidz Play Area's
and the Magical Mirror Maze, but there's so much
more we've done to make Wookey Hole a great
family destination for a wonderful day out
What
Ever The Weather.
Wookey Hole is open every day of the year except
Christmas Day from 10 am, until 5pm in summer
and 4pm from November to March.

Promontory of land with dramatic cliffs and
Victorian fort. Brean Down, rich in wildlife
and history, is one of the most striking
landmarks of the Somerset coastline, extending
1½ml into the Bristol Channel.
At its most seaward point a Palmerston Fort,
built in 1865 and then re-armed in World War
Two, provides a unique insight into Brean’s
past. |

Prominent hill overlooking the Isle of Avalon,
Glastonbury and the Somerset Levels.
The dramatic and evocative Tor dominates the
surrounding countryside and offers spectacular
views over Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
At the summit of this very steep hill an
excavation has revealed the plans of two
superimposed churches of St. Michael, of which
only the 15th-century tower remains. |
