from an experienced rider simply hiring a horse for the
odd hour to residential riding courses for absolute
beginners.

Oaklands Riding school and livery yard was
established in 1971 and has always been a family
run business. The stables are set in the beautiful
Devonshire countryside with the added advantage of
being on the outskirts of Exeter. The business
takes pride in the quality and variety of the 50
riding school horses and treat each customer as an
individual, catering for any specific needs. All
the staff are friendly and experienced and always
willing to help.
Facilities consist of a jumping paddock, flood lit
sand school and indoor school and are also
affiliated to the Riding for Disabled Association.
The choice of lessons include private, group and
shared. Hacks consists of one or two hour rides
around traditional Devonshire lanes and
countryside and cater for all abilities from
complete beginners to the more experienced rider
looking for a challenging ride. The stables also
organise a fabulous change from the normal
Birthday Parties by providing a one hour party on
horseback.

Budleigh Salterton Riding School is situated on
the edge of Woodbury Common in a peaceful
country setting, within easy reach of Budleigh
Salterton, Exmouth and Exeter. This provides the
ideal location for country rides over heathland
with spectacular views of the coastline. The
riding school also has two large all-weather
ménage with jumping facilities for riding
lessons. All standards and ages of rider are
welcome, from complete beginners to those with a
lifetime of experience. On all occasions horses
are matched to riders abilities by our highly
qualified staff. Qualified riding instruction is
available and riding is always accompanied.
Budleigh Salterton Riding School also offer full
and DIY liveries, facilities for breaking and
training horses, breeds warm blood horses and
competes in many equestrian events.
Licensed Riding School, Trekking and Pony Club
centre with all-weather riding arenas. Home to
24 rare breed Caspian horses, ride 2000 years of
history. Trekking to the beach and the moors by
arrangement. All equipment available.
