The largest fishing port in
England, Newlyn lies in Mount’s Bay and centres on
a cluster of Cornish cottages that rise from the
sea to occupy a steep hillside.
It is famous as the setting for the ‘Newlyn
School’ of artists founded in the 19th century by
Stanhope Forbes.
