Yachting, swimming and sun
seeking are the stock in trade of this prosperous
harbour resort opposite Falmouth on the Roseland
peninsula.
Its sturdy, well-preserved castle was built in
1542 by Henry V111 to help guard the Fal estuary
against a French invasion that never materialised.
