Located in an idyllic setting,
this former tin mining centre has been transformed
into a typical Cornish seaside resort with a
number of sandy beaches, wonderful scenery and a
sublime cove.
The panoramic views from 700ft St. Agnes Beacon are
breathtaking. The county’s most famous painter,
John Opie, was born at Harmony Cottage in 1761.
The engine house of a defunct tin mine sits
precariously on the edge of a 300ft cliff.
