The lighthouse which dates back to 1752 is the oldest mainland lighthouse in Cornwall and close by is Kynance Cove famous for its brilliant turquoise water and white sand. The peninsula offers fine walking in dramatic coastal scenery lovely sandy beaches and amidst the heathland and ancient tumuli are Goonhilly Earth Station's vast dishes and visitor centre. In an area of outstanding natural beauty with a famously mild climate and just ¼ mile from a delightful little cove these recently converted spacious and attractively furnished cottages are ideal for a relaxing break. Set at the gateway to Church Cove a picturesque cluster of thatched cottages they are a short walk from the shops restaurants and pub in Lizard village (½ mile). Lizard Point the most southerly tip of the British mainland is a bird watchers' paradise where numerous circular walks can be enjoyed along a spectacular coastline dotted with tiny coves and its unique landscape of open heath and towering sea cliffs is smothered with colourful flowers in spring and early summer. One pleasant walk leads to the pretty thatched village of Cadgwith. Goonhilly Earth Station's visitor centre is a few minutes' drive Helston and Flambards theme park are 11 miles and Penzance St Michael's Mount (N.T.) the Minnack open air theatre and Land's End are in easy reach.
The owner who lives adjacent and runs a Bed and Breakfast is happy to provide full English or continental breakfast in the main house at extra cost to cottage visitors.

Adjoining the owners' home it is a short drive from Lizard lighthouse the most southerly point in England and also numerous tiny sandy coves and fishing villages. Inland stand the vast dishes of Goonhilly Earth Station and visitor centre Helston and Flambards Theme Park are 3½ miles whilst St. Michael's Mount (N.T.) and Penzance are a little further afield. Just yards from the beach (white property to left of left photograph) in beautiful Kynance Cove (pictured) shared only with two fishermen's cottages and next to a beach café you can enjoy the simple life in this detached cottage. Public access to the cove is by footpath from the National Trust car park. Visitors to the cottage may use the private steep unsurfaced track (see note below). Lizard village with its pub and shops is just 2 miles. This is an exceptional location for walking bird watching or just relaxing.
