It is open each day as a place of quiet and prayer, with daily services, visitors are always welcome. The building designed by the architect Clutton, was opened on 5th February 1875, the architecture being a mixture of neo-gothic and neo-Norman and reflecting very much the spirit of the Victorian era. Many Catholic visitors to Bournemouth worship at the Sacred Heart and greatly appreciate its beauty and the liturgy celebrated there.
