Places to eat & drink in Chard.

Chard, the highest town in Somerset is at the southernmost point of the County. In the 1800's it was a centre for lace making, and the town also claims to be the place where powered flight was first tried out. The town's museum is an interesting place to take the family where you will obtain a good sense of 19th century life and learn about its pioneers.
About a mile away you can find a nature reserve on the Chard Reservoir which covers about 91 acres. It's a place to stretch your legs, fish and birdwatch. There is a bird hide where you can spot some less common birds including the Great White Egret, Cattle Egret and Spotted Redshank.

We cannot give a full list of all available food outlets but below is a small selection of those available in Chard or surrounding areas.
