Overlooked by an 11th century castle, Totnes was once an important port but now stands at the highest navigable point of the River Dart. Packed with historical interest, it boasts an unusual, arcaded high street and a museum housed in an Elizabethan merchant’s house. Its church dates to the 15th century and its civic centre to 11th century.

A key attraction is the Tones Motor Museum. Nearby is the family home and gardens of Agatha Christie, now run by the National Trust. She bought the estate in 1938 and some 30 acres are open to the public.

Dartmoor National Park covers an area of 365 square miles, whilst Dartmoor itself features medieval ruins, and plenty of rural lanes to explore. We are a haven for outdoor lovers. Anglers are well served, we have our own 6 coarse fishing lake. We also offer clay pigeon shooting, archery, volleyball, basketball, cricket and football. Just a short drive away and free to our guests is an excellent leisure complex with heated swimming pools, sauna, steam room and gym. We look forward to your stay with us.
