Places to eat & drink in Bristol.

The eighth most populated city in England, Bristol is often missed as a holiday destination, but visitors flock here around the year. There is a so much on offer in this superbly cultural city and it makes a great place to stay from which to explore the West Country.

There is a huge choice of shops, restaurants and bars to suit all budgets and tastes. It's a vibrant city with a diverse selection of arts and theatre, and a dynamic, groovy music scene.

It's a very varied place from its old historic old town and harbour to the Clifton suspension bridge built by Brunel. There's the old glass covered St. Nicholas Market where a wide choice of different foods are on offer, King Street's theatre-land, museums, art galleries and Bristol Zoo, which is the 5th oldest in the world. Find the aquarium and visit The University of Bristol which contains brilliant botanic garden full of plants themed into different collections, and the Avon Valley Railway.

The main shopping centres are found in two major precincts Cabot Circus, the newest, and Broadmead, with many departments stores found outside on the streets.

World-class events and festivals are held in and around the city throughout the year.
