The Roman bathing establishment with its magnificent Temple and Baths flourished in Aquae Sulis between the first and fifth centuries AD. It was built around the only natural hot spring in the UK which rises at 46ºC.

The Roman remains are remarkably complete and among the finest in Europe. Audioguides are available at no extra charge in eight languages, and guided tours can be arranged.

Stunning computer and filmed reconstructions, and costumed Roman characters bring Roman Bath vividly to life. The Georgian Pump Room has been the social art of Bath since 1795.
