The 43 hectare London Wetland Centre is the best urban site in Europe to watch wildlife, an international award winning visitor attraction and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Located on the banks of the River Thames in Barnes, Southwest London the centre is home to rare and beautiful wildlife including Bitterns, Kingfishers and a colony of endangered Water voles. The spectacular 43 hectare reserve also features: A visitor Centre with restaurant, gift shop and cinema. Bird Airport - an impressive viewing observatory and 6 wildlife hides. An interactive Discovery Centre and much more! Open 7 days a week except Dec 25th.

The London Aquarium is one of Europe's largest displays of aquatic life, home to over 350 species in 50 displays. From sharks, stingrays and clown fish to moray eels, lionfish and side walking crabs. Open 10am to 6pm 7 days a week last admission being at 5pm.

East Ham Nature Reserve is a tranquil oasis nestling alongside the busy A13, offering the opportunity to enjoy nature at first hand. It offers both an exciting and educational day of fun for the whole family. Set in a ten-acre churchyard more than 800 years old, it is one of the largest in Britain. The churchyard is one of the largest in Britain and is still used. The ancient Norman parish church of St. Mary Magdalene can be viewed by appointment. There are three numbered nature trails to be explored, these are teeming with local wildlife including foxes, owls and kestrels. Disabled access to ground floor of visitor centre (shop, displays, handling table, toilets). Disabled Badge holders - parking by main gate in Norman Road. Wheelchair trail raised outdoor displays. Guide dogs for the blind welcome (other dogs strictly prohibited).

Come and enjoy a taste of country life in the city. Freightliners Farm, in the heart of Islington, provides an exciting opportunity for you to experience a real working farm in action. The Farm is open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday. On Monday, the farm is closed except on Bank Holidays. During the Christmas period, the farm is closed for the week.
