Settle back in beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages and take a 10-mile ride behind a vintage steam locomotive through some of the Island’s unspoilt countryside.

The principal station at Havenstreet has a museum, shop, station buffet, bar and restaurant.

Other attractions include children's playground, gardens, picnic area and woodland walk.

Take a trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway

Open April to October. Fare is £9.00 for adults and £4.50 for children (fares will vary during special events). Large coach and car park at Havenstreet. From the mainland the most convenient routes to the railway are by Wightlink Ferry from Portsmouth to Ryde, or Hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde, and then by Island Line electric train to the junction station of Smallbrook.

Here you can discover the simple craft of brass rubbing, using our metallic waxes and specialist papers. Make your own knight to take home in just half an hour. Run by teachers who provide a unique educational opportunity for visitors to the brass rubbing centre to gain an insight into the work of the early engravers, together with an appreciation of the outstanding beauty of their work.
