Medina Valley Centre is a
Christian charity located on the sheltered banks
of the upper reaches of the Medina river, which
means that the conditions are particularly
favourable for novices.
We have a fleet of open
canoes as well as a fleet of sit-on kayaks and so
can offer “taster” sessions in both canoeing and
kayaking. The canoes can be rafted together which
produces a very stable “catamaran”, which is
virtually impossible to capsize on the river. A
taster session costs £25, usually lasts between
2-3 hours and gives opportunities to learn some
basic techniques during a short exploratory
journey up or down river, depending on the
prevailing conditions. All sessions will be run
with a ratio of 1 qualified instructor to a
maximum of eight students. There is a minimum age
of eight years old. Discounts are available for
group bookings. It is necessary to pre-book, as we
can only run sessions when there is sufficient
water, and tides change every day!

Island Youth Water Activities Centre (IOW) Ltd.
is a voluntary organisation grant aided by the
Isle of Wight Youth & Community Service. We are
a Charity run for the benefit of all young
people on the Isle of Wight. Our prime aim being
the provision of a variety of water based
experiences, which combine challenge, safety and
enjoyment. Our secondary aim is to provide
training to national standards for young people
and potential instructors (of any age).Activities Offered: Dinghy Sailing,
Yachting, Canoeing, Powerboating, MultiActivity
and Theory Courses.

Medina Valley Centre is a
Christian charity located on the sheltered banks

conditions are very favourable for beginners and
intermediate sailors.
There is easy access to the
Solent for more challenging experiences. We are an
RYA recognised teaching establishment for Dinghy
sailing and provide RYA Junior Sailing Scheme
courses Stages 1-4 (minimum age 8 years), as well
as the Adult Scheme and Powerboating courses. We
also provide half-day “brush-up” sessions with
very favourable student:
instructor rations for those who want to
consolidate their skills in particular areas. We
can deliver “taster” sessions for groups and all
programmes are offered on a residential or
non-residential basis.

everything from beginners to advanced dinghy,
keelboat and windsurfing courses. At the UKSA we
specialise in introducing all ages to the great
outdoors through the watersports medium.
