Mitchelswood Farm is set in 20 acres on the edge
of Newick Village in Mid Sussex. The Proprietor,
Seona Lightfoot, lives with her husband and four
children on the Farm and together they look
after all the horses and the other Farm animals
kept for fun. Our Instructors are selected not
just for their BHS qualifications or experience,
but for their ability to interact with children
and keep the lessons enjoyable. Children from
the age of four can be led on a small pony and
then progress through our range of proven ponies
and horses as their confidence and technique
improves. NOVICES: Help is always on hand for
the very young or nervous rider. INTERMEDIATES:
Once confident, pupils can hack out and join
classes for more advanced riding e.g. gridwork
and dressage. STABLE MANAGEMENT: We run classes
on all aspects of how to handle, tack up and
look after a pony correctly and safely.
The Stables has the privilege of sharing the
picturesque and well-maintained grounds of
Lavant House Rosemead School and is surrounded
by fifty acres of pasture and woodland. Adjacent
to the stabling complexes are two large floodlit
all-weather arenas and permanent grass show
jumping and dressage arenas. A cross-country
schooling course is currently under design.
Whatever the aims and ambitions of our clients,
whether just riding for pleasure or for serious
advancement, all can be assured of receiving the
very best, individual attention, supplied by our
committed, knowledgeable and enthusiastic team.
