SFC (Sussex Flying Club), at Shoreham Airport,
is the preferred organisation for those who seek
the highest standard in flying training.
Offering a complete range of services, including
ab-initio training for the Private Pilot's
licence, aerobatic and instrument instruction as
well as self-fly hire, SFC is ideal to help you
achieve in aviation- whatever your ambitions.

Founded in
1930 and now one of the largest in
Britain, the Southdown Gliding Club is
the perfect place to experience the
thrill of soaring quietly through the air
over the South Downs.
The club owns a number of tandem seat trainers,
single seat gliders and several tug planes. Not
sure if gliding is for you? Then before committing
to full membership, why not take to the air with a
trial lesson.
Open all year. Summer, 7 days dawn til dusk
(weather permitting). Winter, Wednesday & Weekends

BHPA licensed Paragliding school established in
1992 with the best flying facilities available
for hill launch Paragliding, specialising in
Beginner to Club Pilot courses. Our private
flying site at Steyning is the only paragliding
site flyable in every wind direction. Recognised
as one of the best all-round paragliding
training sites in England and where many well
known paragliding and hang gliding pilots took
their first steps. Purple Haze Paragliding
School is based at Shoreham Airport just five
minutes from our main sites, on the beautiful
South Downs.
We are a dedicated Hang Gliding School, offering
air experience flights through to full training

Airworks Paragliding Centre is situated right in
the heart of the South's premier flying sites on
the beautiful South Downs. We are based in the
spacious, converted railway station in the
centre of the village of Glynde. We are in easy
access of the A27, and can be reached from the
main Brighton and London to Eastbourne railway
lines, sometimes with a change at Lewes. Our
centre has a fully stocked shop and excellent
classroom facilities equipped for all your
theory and equipment needs. Please feel free to
pop in for a coffee and a chat, or maybe to
watch a video or look something up in our
comprehensive library of flying books. Airworks
is run by one of the UK's most prominent pilots,
Steve Purdie, former British champion and member
of the British paragliding team.
