Accommodation for families, business travel or romantic getaways

An ancient royal burgh on the Tain Peninsula, this is a village packed with historical interest. It was awarded its first charter in the 11th century by Malcolm III Canmore and was famously the birthplace of Saint Duthus. His tiny chapel offered sanctuary to the wife and daughter of Robert the Bruce in 1307. During the medieval period St Duthus' Church was the centre of pilgrimages. James IV visited it many times as a penance for the death of his father at the Battle of Sauchieburn.

An important local attraction is the Glenmorangie Distillery, maker of Scotland's best-selling whisky. In the centre of the village stands a 16th century tollbooth while the local museum doubles as the Clan Ross Centre.
