Landmark Heritage Park

The centre is located in a 30 acre natural ancient pine wood and provides a fascinating and entertaining day for all ages. There are exhibitions on the forestry industry, Man in the Highlands from the Ice Age to the present day, and the natural history of the ancient pine wood. Drumsmittal, Inverness, IV1 1XF If you are interested in animals and birds or just countryside, you will enjoy a visit to this quiet corner of the Black Isle, an ideal place for all the family. Come and feed the friendly ducks, geese and swans on the many ponds. Make contact with our friendly goats and stroke the cuddly rabbits. See the rare sheep. A cafe and gift shop are available or you can enjoy a picnic in the play area set aside for children. Let the children and Mum see how chicks develop in the egg and finally break through their shell in the open top incubators. (Hatching takes place during the spring and summer months).

Highland Wildlife Park
Kincraig, Kingussie, Inverness-shire, PH21 1NL October 2008 saw the move of two Amur Tigers, biggest of the big cats, from Edinburgh Zoo to Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie. Yuri and Sasha have already reared six cubs and it is hoped that they will continue to breed here. The park is changing to focus on animals from the world's mountain and tundra environments and is well worth a visit. The tigers have been housed in a new enclosure specially built for them by the Royal Engineers.
