This lovely market town lies on the River Bogie where it joins the larger Deveron and offers fishing, walking and castle-spotting. Ruined Huntly Castle was home to the once-mighty Gordons - they gave their name to the ‘Gay Gordons’ dance. It sulks in a beautiful wooded park looking down on a dramatic gorge.
