With a one mile track, the Royal Deeside Railway is in a beautiful setting along the River Dee. A heritage railway operating Steam and Diesel locomotives all lovingly restored. Quaintly known as the Whiskey line, the Keith & Dufftown Railway is eleven miles long and links the World's Malt Whisky Capital, Duffton, to the market town of Keith. Reopened by volunteers in 2000 it takes you through some of Scotland's most lovely scenery, taking in lochs, glens, castles and distilleries. It passes through six stations ending at Keith Junction. Well restored steam and diesel trains run for a mile from Alford to Haughton Park. Closed through the winter, it does operate Santa Specials in December. Narrow Gauge.
