The nature reserve at Castle
Semple Loch is nationally recognised as a wildfowl
sanctuary and Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The Loch is also popular for water sports while
the village itself is pleasing to the eye and has
a number of traditional cottages. Its real fame,
however, comes from its weaving tradition.
