The railway line from
Edinburgh heads north until Ladybank where it
divides. One route heads to Coupar, Dundee and on
to Aberdeen while the other heads westwards
towards Perth. The town developed in the latter
part of the 19th century at this railway junction
which had been built on drained bogland previously
known as Lady's Bog. Rather than give this name to
the town, it was decided that Ladybank was a
little more attractive! The railway station is
claimed be the oldest unaltered station in
Scotland.
There is an 18-hole golf course nearby. |
