A busy fishing port and seaside resort with a splendid coastline, Lossiemouth stands on the River Lossie where it enters the Moray Firth. Britain’s first Labour Prime Minister, Ramsay MacDonald, was born here in 1866.

RAF Lossiemouth is said to be the air force’s busiest and largest ‘fast jet’ base. Gordonstoun School stands close by - both the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales were pupils.
