Ideally situated for exploring the Forest of Bowland, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District, Ashbank is newly furnished and sleeps 2 people. Well equipped and decorated to a high standard, the lounge has a wood burning stove and comfortable seating. A large sliding window leads out on to a terrace, overlooking fields where we breed our own (delete 'our own') horses. Enjoy the views and relax in our warm, cosy cottage with every convenience only a stone's throw away. Great pubs and food nearby. Ashbank is ideal for that perfect getaway. Set on 250 glorious acres of private farmland these two luxurious contemporary barn conversions enjoy breathtaking panoramic views to the Lakeland fells and the mountains of Ingleborough and Whernside – the highest of the Yorkshire Dales’ Three Peaks. A haven of tranquillity this wonderful country holiday location lies at the northern crest of the Forest of Bowland. On the farm a rural idyll where lambs gambol in the spring there is plenty of space to relax and unwind and it’s always fun to watch the cows being milked and gain an insight into farming life. The barns boast spacious and beautifully furnished interiors and each has a separate garden and patio area in the shared enclosed grounds. Bookable as completely self contained properties or as one large property sleeping up to 14 persons they are set amidst meadows 300 yards from the owners’ farmhouse and dairy buildings. The surrounding landscape makes delightful walking and cycling country – quiet lanes lead to pretty villages and there are five good dining pubs within 3 miles. Visitors will find a host of activities and attractions to suit every taste within easy reach including local horse riding stables and the famous waterfall walks and caves of Ingleton. Pretty Kirkby Lonsdale the local market town is full of quaint quality shops (8 miles); Kendal has local producers’ markets; whilst the city of Lancaster provides historic interest and good shopping and seaside Morecambe has a beachside promenade. The Lake District Morecambe Bay and Cumbrian coastline are great for day trips with golf and water sports available. Village shops and pubs 2 miles.
