Blackpool attracts millions of visitors retaining the title of Britain's favourite holiday resort. It grew up from the Victorians wishing to take the cure and when electricity came on the scene it eventually gave rise to a fantastic display of lit decorations all along its six mile stretch, today in the evenings during its season (Sept to Nov), the whole promenade is lit making it a beautiful sight.

The 'Eiffel' like Blackpool Tower immediately catches the eye and contains amongst other attractions a circus, aquarium and lavish Ball Room which hosts many international and televised dancing competitions. The Piers are always popular and the wide clean sandy beaches are a pleasure to stroll along. On the seafront there are gift shops and cafes of all sorts with amusement arcades, casinos and theatres. You can take a ride on the colourful trams or experience being driven in a horse-drawn landau.

The Pleasure Beach is a place to enjoy one of the great rollercoaster rides and Blackpool also has a zoo and sea life centre, there is everything you need to keep all entertained. Much emphasis is being placed on giving it a modern and up to date feel too with new, state-of-the-art shopping centres, the South Shore is now a brilliant and busy place to shop. More exciting developments are on there way which will help to make Blackpool become a top class international resort.
