St. Columb's Cathedral, built in 1628 and consecrated in 1634, is the first Protestant cathedral to be constructed in Europe since the Reformation. The cathedral houses the earliest church bell in Ireland, many relics of the 1688-1689 city siege, and the cathedral's stained glass depict scenes from the siege.

Long Tower Church

Long Tower Church was built in the late 18th century and is supposed to be associated with the 12 century monastic period. It is the oldest Catholic church in the city and has an interesting Rococo interior.

Saint Eugenes Cathedral

Saint Eugenes Cathedral was completed in 1903 and is one of the city's most impressive structures with its style of Gothic revival. Open daily.

Our Lady Of Lourdes Church

Steelstown Road, Londonderry, County Londonderry

Built in 1976 the designs of Liam McCormick. The church is tent-shaped, its interior clad in rough-sawn deal timber which gives a warm textured quality to the large space.

Claragh Heritage Centre is situated in the lower Bann valley in the townland of Claragh. Set in 3.5 acres of garden, this private museum is one of the area's best kept secrets. On your guided tour there is much of interest. Almost all aspects of rural life over two centuries are covered from the farm kitchen to implements of all description that were used before and during mechanisation on the farm. Some rarer items on show include a binder used in the 1940's and 50's and a turnip thinner from the 1920's. Feel free also to stroll through the extensive grounds. See the water wheel at work on the stream or rest in the small church. Around every corner there is something to catch the eye. The bell tower and items relating to the central railway are well worth seeing. If you want to lean over the half door or sit by the hearth you can do so in Jamie's cottage. Built on the site of an original thatched cottage occupied by Jimmy and Hannah Mullan, Stephen has recaptured the nostalgia of country living in his two-roomed cottage. Ideal for group outings, booking is essential as admission is by appointment.

Set on a stunning and wild headland with fabulous cliff top walks and views over Ireland’s north coast is the landscaped estate of Downhill, laid out in the late 18th century by the eccentric Earl and Bishop, Frederick Hervey. Estate includes ruins, mausoleum, beautiful gardens and the renowned Mussenden Temple perched on the cliff edge which is available for private hire.

Charming 17th century thatched house with an interesting cruck-truss rood construction. One of few pre-18th century Irish Buildings surviving. Good short visit between Derry City and Giant's Causeway.

Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall

13 Society Street, Londonderry

Built originally in 1877 and extended in 1937. designed originally by John Guy Ferguson and recently renovated. The building is of cut stone and has a good museum of local items. Listed building.
