Starbeck swimming Baths represent one of the most important pieces of living history in the area. The Prince of Wales Baths (as they were originally known) were built in 1870 and became one of the foremost Spa attractions of the Victorian era. You'll find echoes of its gracious past in its architecture. The pool water, an average 86 degrees, is warmer than most pools - a feature greatly appreciated by our younger and more senior customers. Discover the history and the charm. Small car park and refreshment vending available.

Situated near to the town centre, Knaresborough Pool ranks as the children's favourite with the emphasis very much on family and fun with its hot water bubble pool and water flume. One section of the pool is shallow throughout and is particularly suitable for youngsters and learners. This said there are plenty of opportunities for serious swimmers and adults too.

Ripon Spa Baths

Park Street, Ripon, HG4 2BD
Tel: 01765 603383

First opened in 1905 Ripon Spa Baths reflected the Edwardian belief in the two H's: if anything was to do you any good it had to Hurt and taste Horrible! Visitors paid good money to be electrically 'shocked' in the immersion baths and cleansed by foul tasting sulphur water. Today the elegance of this era remains in the carefully preserved Pump Room, now the foyer, which features a stained glass scene of the historic presentation of the spurs and Ripon's famous horn blower. Today you'll find all the amenities and facilities you'd expect of a first class swimming pool. Battenburg Health Suite for sauna, sunbeds and massage located at the Baths, limited car parking and refreshment vending also available.
