The impressive ruins of Middleham Castle boast one of the largest keeps in England. It was the childhood home of Richard lll who turned it into his principal northern fortification. His son Edward died in the castle in the late 15th century.
Ulshaw Bridge, built in 1674, is one of Wensleydale’s most beautiful man-made structures.
