From April to October 60 minute public trips run every day taking you through beautiful scenery to either Niffany or Snaygil. We offer public boat trips for one hour, theme nights, private charters and magical Santa trips our new boat the Bronte Steamer powered by both steam and electric's now available. The Wensleydale Railway runs heritage diesel rail cars from the 1960's between Leeming Bar and Redmire, via Bedale and Leyburn, a 17 mile trip that takes approximately 50 minutes.

Yorkshire Dales Guides offer a wide range of activities and courses.


Set up in 1991, all instructors are local, experienced and qualified in the appropriate activity.


Activities include caving, climbing & abseiling, navigation skills & GPS, challenge events, teambuilding and guided walks.


Caving for all levels including a Full day, half day or evening trips.

 


For those with very limited or no previous experience, ideal for schools, colleges and other groups who want to experience underground exploration. Waterfall climbs, large stream ways, small hand line climbs and optional crawling sections. Trips can be arranged for all abilities including those with special needs. All activities are closely supervised by our expert instructors and specialist equipment is provided as required, allowing you to enjoy the challenges on offer from Yorkshire Dales Guides.

The Settle Loop

Part of the new Pennine Bridleway National Trail

The Settle Loop is the first 10 mile (16km) section of what will eventually be the 350 mile Pennine Bridleway National Trail. This will run from Middleton Top in Derbyshire through Lancashire, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Cumbria, to Byrness in Northumberland. Opened in August 2005, the Settle Loop is a circuit starting and ending in Settle and was created to allow horse-riders, mountain-bikers and walkers to spend a whole day in the Yorkshire Dales National Park whilst journeying along the National Trail.

Home to some of the largest and rarest trees and shrubs in England, originally created by Colonel Sir Leonard Ropner (1895 - 1977). Further attractions include the tree trails, nature trail and children's trail, a large lake, falconry centre, Plant Centre, picnic area,  children's play area, the Milbank Pinetum, originally planted by Lady Augusta Milbank in the mid-nineteenth century, and the medieval Spring Wood dating back to the 16th century.
