An ancient
town, Raunds dates back at least to Roman times.
Excavations have also unearthed evidence of
Anglo-Saxon and medieval buildings. The 13th
century St Peter’s Church has impressive medieval
wall paintings depicting the parable of the seven
deadly sins and a superb broach spire. The town is
most famous, however, as the home of the British
Army boot. |
