rooms full of glass cases containing bits of old pottery
and fossilised bones.
Today even most conventional
museums including displays which change but over recent
years there has been a growth in industrial and "living"
museums.

feel for how people lived and worked, the hardships they

Built between 1709 and 1713 by Edmund
Cradock. Today the house is one of six
museums ran by the local council. In 1999, the
house gained notoriety due to the worlds media
descending upon it due to reports of ghostly
goings on outside the hall.

series of monthly events that use re-enactment,

Ferrers Centre for Arts & Crafts is located
within a Georgian stable block, with workshops
producing ceramics, jewellery, textiles,

Foxton's famous 10 staircase lock flight was
built in 1810, designed to raise boats a massive
75ft up the hill from Market Harborough, linking
the north and south of England by canal.
Other activities include; a picnic area, museum
and and canal wildlife.
