This area of dune land, part of RAF Donna Nook, is managed by The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust as a nature reserve as it is a popular breeding ground for grey and common seals.

For much of the year, the seals live at sea or on sandbanks offshore but they come ashore to breed during the winter.

The reserve is open to the public and is of interest not just to those wishing to see its seal population but also for anyone interested in wild flowers and birds.

Donna Nook is an active RAF bombing range.

Do not enter bombing area when red flags are flying although most of the dunes are accessible at all times.

How many of us have watched a Kestrel hovering over the side of a motorway or a Barn Owl quartering a riverbank or maybe even Sparrow Hawk causing panic at our bird tables? Most of us have experienced these brief but exciting encounters. Woodside Falconry can go a stage further and offer you the opportunity to experience the thrill of an Eagle Owl sitting on a bench beside you, or a Peregrine Falcon swooping inches from you, or even an Eagle soaring majestically overhead then folding her wings and coming to rest at your feet. Our skilled handlers will explain and demonstrate how these birds behave in their natural environment, showing the difference between effortless soaring, short sharp bursts of energy and sitting in a tree all day long. Flying demonstrations take place daily at 12pm and 3pm.

Meet the animals... Make friends with the animals... Talk to the animals!
Most of our animals are used to people and enjoy being stroked and spoken to. If you come at the right time, you may be able to help us feed them. The young lambs can be quite a handful! Many of our visitors form deep friendships with their own particular favourites and occasionally phone us, write to us or email us for progress reports. For many people, meeting the animals at Rand Farm Park is a very special experience. And when your youngsters have said hello to all the animals, you can enjoy their excitement as they let off steam in our indoor heated play pods... the first in Europe! The majority of our animals live in warm straw pens... so you can meet them at any season.
