Three miles south-west of Cardiff and off the A4055 is the delightful 18-hole parkland course of Dinas Powis, which takes the name of the pleasant small and ancient village of Dinas Powis.

An undulating course in peaceful surroundings and with a cosy little clubhouse, it is hard to believe it was taken over to the growing of vegetables for the war effort during the Second World War.

Now fully recovered, this is a popular place to play, as can be vouched by the membership of some 700, which is amazing in a smallish county that can boast 14 good golf courses. Excellent natural drainage, making it perfect for golf all year round. Worth a visit. Open: All year - 7 days - dawn til dusk.
