Deepdale Avenue, Scarborough, North Yorks, YO11 2UE
Establishment Photo
South Cliff Golf Club at Scarborough was founded in 1903. When a new company took over the club, they raised money, leased additional land and had the course redesigned by Dr. Alister Mackenzie, (the designer of Augusta). The new course was officially opened in 1921 and apart from some cliff erosion and changes to Filey Road it remains very true to the original design. The Golf Club is situated approximately one mile south of the town centre and is split by Filey Road which makes the course very distinctive with parkland holes and links style holes on the coastal side. The coastal holes all have spectacular views over the town and harbour. Excellent clubhouse and facilities. So, whether you are a budding professional or an enthusiastic beginner you will find playing the course both interesting and enjoyable. Contact the Secretary and arrange a booking.

Welcome to Renishaw Golf Club, established by Sir George R Sitwell in 1911. 18 challenging holes totalling 6132 yards and a Par 71. An Undulating parkland course (Holes 1-9), and meadowland course (Holes 10-18) the course can certainly be described as a "Game Of Two Halves". Starting at the top Nine these require undoubted concentration on all holes. The 9th in particular will certainly be remembered with its narrow fairway and difficult surroundings. The back Nine can seem less daunting to the experienced golfer, but complacency can be rewarded with the rough. Unrivalled for its quality and hospitality, With a clubhouse designed by the renowned Sir Edwin Lutyens an extensive dining menu is served in the exclusive Lutyens' room.
