Edgbaston
Watersports has offered water based
activities at Edgbaston Reservoir since
the early 80’s.
The team here are pleased to be able to
offer high quality water based activities
including sailing, windsurfing, raft
building, canoeing, kayaking and
powerboating.
The reservoir is located on the Western
side of Birmingham city, and is therefore
easily accessible from all areas within
the city.
The reservoir itself is a large expanse
of water which was designed by Sir Thomas
Telford to provide water for Birmingham’s
canal system.
All safety equipment is provided by Edgbaston
watersports and is checked regularly to keep a
high standard as well as boats used on the
reservoir. RYA Training Centre. AALA licensed.

The Centre is
situated adjacent to the Wyreley &
Essington Canal in Brownhills.
We provide BCU canoe training courses,
from beginners to higher level coaching
qualifications. Kayak or canoeing
sessions for individuals, family groups
(any age), birthday parties, school,
youth or community groups, corporate team
building days, and day, weekend or
evening sessions.
Drop-in sessions, Saturdays 10.00am till 02.00pm.
The Centre contains a British Waterways boater's
service station, temporary moorings, visitor's
toilet and shower facilities. It is conveniently
situated right next to a large Tesco's
supermarket.
The Mercia Canoe Club is the canoe section of
the Coventry Canal Society, based at the heart
of Coventry, in the old Canal Basin warehouses.
We welcome all ages and abilities - from
beginners just wanting to have fun, to those
seeking specialist coaching.

Our choice of activities caters for everyone
from the novice to the experienced. The Wye Valley
is Canoe Country! - We paddle the most scenic
stretches of the river, from placid water to
turbulent rapids. Your instructor will brief you
on kayak/canoe control, and safety procedures. You
will be taught flat water skills and moving water
techniques, all combined with a lot of fun and
games! Maybe train towards your star awards - a
national award system accredited by the British
Canoe Union. Canoe & Bivouac Weekends - An all
inclusive river safari from Hoarwithy to Monmouth
- a magical and memorable experience and the very
spirit of adventure!
RAFT BUILDING (Water Based) - Using
barrels, poles, paddles, buoyancy aids and
helmets, the group constructs a raft of their own
design with the encouragement of our instructors.
The success of the raft is tested whilst the
instructor supervises from a kayak or canoe as a
safety boat. These sessions are run by a British
Canoe Union Level 2 or Level 3 Coach.
A member of the British Canoe Union, Matlock
Canoe Club was formed in 1984.
The club meets every Sunday morning and
Wednesday evening at the slalom site.
General practice sessions are held on Monday
evenings at the Matlock Lido Swimming Pool. The
club welcomes the involvement of all members the
family.

Water sports have always been the central
attraction of Rother Valley Country Park. All
equipment must be rigged by the hirer, no
refunds will be made for lack of experience,
advance booking is advisable. 24 hours notice
must be given for cancellations otherwise the
full cost of the booking becomes payable.

Leam Boat Centre offers
pleasure boating for all the family, Hires
Rowing Boats, Motor boats, Canoes & Kayaks on

Aztec is a purpose built
watersports lake, centre and shop in the Midlands,
between Worcester and Evesham.
Windsurfing Courses:
Windsurfing is our most popular activity, and we
are the experts in the Midlands. In fact we
train the RYA instructors! Exciting, trendy,
