Canoeing in the docks, climbing/abseiling in the
Avon Gorge and mountain biking at Ashton Court.
The south coast of Cornwall has a wealth of
sheltered waters which is very well suited to
canoeing. Falmouth Canoe Club offers advice to
people wanting to take up the sport. New intake
of beginners is limited each year so people need
to register their interest early.

Paignton Canoe Club exists in order to:
Stimulate interest in canoeing locally, Provide
regular opportunities for its members to enjoy
all aspects of this activity in a way that is
safe and fun for all, Encourage interest in
everyone; male or female, young or old, novice
or experienced. Activities covered by the club
include: River touring, White water river, Sea
touring, Surfing, Swimming pool canoe practice,
Canoe polo, Canoe camping.
Totnes Canoe Club is a very active but informal
group of recreational paddlers run by
volunteers. Our main interests are white-water
kayaking, surfing and sea kayaking. We run
excellent value weekly BCU training sessions on
the River Dart throughout the summer. In the
winter we have an active white water group and
make great use of the river Dart - probably the
best white-water river in the south of England.

Avalon Adventure is a UK based company. We
specialise in courses and holidays featuring
Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Abseiling, Mountain
Navigation, Caving, Hill Walking, Mountain

Canoe Control mild and wild offer white-water
kayaking, white-water rafting and canoe holidays
courses vacations and adventure travel in the
UK, French Alps and Nepal.
HAVEN BANKS Outdoor Education Centre is situated
in Exeter on the canal and specialises in
activity-based courses for all ages and
abilities. The Centre is approved by BCU and
RYA. Activities offered include canoeing,
sailing, windsurfing, caving, climbing and
orienteering. Raft building and problem solving
are other popular pursuits. Overnight camps by
canoe along the canal and residential visits at
Exeter Youth Hostel are additional options.
Transport can be provided for groups resident
elsewhere, or for off-site activities.
Individuals are welcome on evening classes and
holiday schemes; groups from schools, clubs and
other organisations can book activities at any
time. Equipment has been carefully chosen to
suit all sizes, ages and abilities. Haven Banks
also has a permanent orienteering course and a
climbing wall.

Sutton Bingham and
District Canoe Club aims to promote the sport and
recreation of canoeing in a safe and enjoyable
way, to provide opportunities for those wishing to
try the sport for the first time and encourage
those already partaking in the sport, to achieve
their full potential.
The club was formed in the
spring of 2001 and provides canoeing and kayaking
opportunities for all ages and skill groups. Based
near Yeovil, Somerset the club has access to The
River Yeo, Sutton Bingham Reservoir and Sherborne
Pool on a weekly basis.
Starting with beginners on
Sutton Bingham the club supports many of the
different disciplines within the sport, including
Canoe, Kayak, white water, placid water, polo,
marathon, surf and slalom.
